Spirited Away

Spirited Away is the single best animated movie I have ever seen, with a great story and lovable cast and outstanding animation, this is truly an eternal gem in the animation industry.

The story might be bit off the beaten track for traditional Disney fans but once you see it  wont matter one bit. Its perfect for all age groups and orientations.
The story is of a young girl who is moving into a new town, and along they way with her parents she discovers an abandoned theme park, little does she know it is actually the location of a secret bathhouse for the sprits of japanese lore.
Unfortunately her parents get transformed into pigs as a result of eating food not meant for them, and she has to keep them being eaten by the spirits for dinner, as a result she gets employed in the bathhouse with the help of a mysterious boy named Haku, and the story continues it enchanting journey of love, magic, and bravery from there onwards.
I was so engrossed in the movie I completely forgot to eat my popcorn or drink my soda, and the parts where Haku becomes a dragon are amazing in their animation and fluidity. Spirited Away has won the Japan Academy Prize (2002) which is the japanese equivalent to the Academy Awards and it also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature (2002).

Well,... what are you waiting for? Go watch it!
